Abstract:  Given a finite group G and a Sylow p-subgroup P, the McKay conjecture identifies a relation between a finite group G and the normalizer N(P) of the Sylow p-subgroup in G. Recent observations by Navarro, Isaacs and others suggest that further connections can be made. We will survey recent results.

Refreshments will be served.
